What the free debt check looks at
Seven questions, about a minute. Each one covers something that decides whether a debt is worth chasing and how:
- Who owes the money. A person, a business or a company changes who is served and how.
- How much. Whether the claim fits the Small Claims Court limit in that state.
- Where they are. The state decides which court and which rules apply.
- When it was due. Time limits apply to every debt; older debts need checking first.
- What proof you have. Agreements, invoices, receipts, transfers and messages all count.
- Whether they admitted it. An admission in writing or by message strengthens a claim.
- Whether you can reach them. A letter, and later a claim, has to be served on them.
What you get
A plain verdict on how strong the claim looks, the points working for and against you, the sensible next step and what it would cost. If the next step is a Letter of Demand, you can start it from the result; see what a Letter of Demand costs.
Common questions
Is the debt check really free?
Yes. There is no charge and no sign-up. You only pay if you choose to go ahead with a Letter of Demand, from ₦10,000.
Is the result legal advice?
No. It is general information based on your answers, to help you decide what to do next. If your answers point to something a lawyer should look at first, the check says so and offers a free call back.
Who sees my answers?
Your answers stay in your browser while you take the check. They are only sent to us if you ask a lawyer to call you back.
What happens if my case looks strong?
You can start a Letter of Demand straight from the result. A licensed practitioner reviews and signs it, and the Day 7 and Day 14 follow-ups are included.
